Harnessing the Momentum of #MeToo
After the #MeToo movement exploded into popular view, groups of determined women recognized that it was not enough to call out bad behavior. As revelations of harassment became common knowledge, they turned their energies toward changing it — promoting the training and mindset shifts necessary to stop abuse, make it harder to hide, and hold perpetrators accountable. Helping young people understand what healthy relationships should look like, creating easy-to-use resources for reporting sexual assault anonymously, and targeting inequality in health care workplaces are among the strategies spawned by #MeToo.
