Mitch Landrieu

Senior Advisor and Infrastructure Coordinator

Mitch Landrieu is mayor of New Orleans, first elected in 2010 and re-elected to a second term in 2014. His top priority has been public safety — reforming the police department and reducing the city’s murder rate. He kick-started the city’s economic recovery by fast-tracking over 100 projects; under his tenure, New Orleans has achieved its highest-ever credit rating and over $7 billion in private development. Previously, Landrieu served two terms as lieutenant governor and 16 years as a state legislator. In 2015, Governing Magazine named him Public Official of the Year. Landrieu becomes president of the US Conference of Mayors in June 2017.
