Photographer; Filmmaker, Chasing Water
Pete McBride is a photographer, writer, and filmmaker. He has traveled to over 70 countries on assignment for National Geographic Society publications, Smithsonian, Outside, Google, USAID, and others. Awarded a Knight Fellowship for Professional Journalists at Stanford University, McBride spent over five years documenting the Colorado River, culminating in a coffee-table book and series of award-winning short films. National Geographic listed McBride as an Adventurer of the Yearfor his project trekking the 750-mile length of the Grand Canyon without a trail, a journey that highlighted the natural wonder’s beauty as well as growing development threats. The project led to a book, Grand Canyon: Between River and Rim, and National Geographic Channel documentary, Into the Canyon.
